The government has published the following updated version of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) on 24/07/2018:

Notes:

  • The "Collection" [of documents] page (link) for the July 2018 updates to the NPPF includes the following information:
    - "Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is publishing the revised National Planning Policy Framework. This is the first revision of the National Planning Policy Framework since 2012. It implements around 85 reforms announced previously through the Housing White Paper, the planning for the right homes in the right places consultation and the draft revised National Planning Policy Framework consultation.".
  • Note: The above "Collection" page also includes the following documents:

    - "National Planning Policy Framework - Equality Impact Assessment".
    - "Housing Delivery Test Measurement Rule Book".

  • Note: As a result of these updates, the paragraphs within the NPPF have been renumbered.  For example, the previous paragraph "55" of the NPPF corresponds to the current paragraphs "78" and "79" of the NPPF.

    - "The revised National Planning Policy Framework was published on 24 July 2018 and sets out the government’s planning policies for England and how these are expected to be applied.".
    - "This revised Framework replaces the previous National Planning Policy Framework published in March 2012.".
