The following 1 new Statutory Instrument (SI) came into force on 03/05/2023:

New Legislation:

  • May 2023: SI 2023 No. 424 - The Secretaries of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, for Science, Innovation and Technology, for Business and Trade, and for Culture, Media and Sport and the Transfer of Functions (National Security and Investment Act 2021 etc) Order 2023 (pdf) (link).

Notes:

  • The above SI 2023 No. 424 includes a consequential amendment to the following SI:
    - LBCA Regulations 1990.
  • In particular, article 18 and the Schedule Part 2 paragraph 26 of the above SI 2023 No. 424 replaces references to "the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport" with references to "the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport" within Schedule 4 of the LBCA Regulations 1990.
  • The "Explanatory Note" (link) at the end of the above SI 2023 No. 424 includes the following information:
    - "This Order [SI 2023 No. 424] in Council is made under sections 1 and 2 of the Ministers of the Crown Act 1975. It makes provision in connection with the establishment of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, the Department for Business and Trade and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.".
    - "Article 18 [of SI 2023 No. 424] introduces the Schedule, which makes consequential amendments to Acts of Parliament, secondary legislation and retained EU law.".
