The "GPDO Part 1 (All Classes) - LDC Appeal Decisions" document has been updated to include 3 additional appeal decisions relating to householder permitted development legislation, for which the conclusions are as follows:

June 2025 - Code a01815 (appeal allowed):

• This appeal decision provides an example of where the applicant submitted (or offered to submit) an amended drawing during the appeal process, and the Inspector did accept this amended drawing. (*)
  [Quote: “The appellant’s evidence submitted with the LDC states that the proposed dormer would equate to an increase of 39.96 cubic metres. Calculations were documented on a scaled drawing titled ‘Evidence’ (drawing number 24BR-31). Further scaled drawings showing elevations, floor plans and a cross section including annotated measurements were also submitted with the application. To accompany the appeal, the appellant has submitted further evidence including a hand drawn diagram that illustrates their calculations and states that the dormer’s volume would be 39.7553 cubic metres. A further scaled drawing titled ‘Evidence (Clarified)’ includes annotated measurements and calculations compiled using design software, that demonstrates the proposed dormer’s volume would be 39.884 cubic metres. All three of the appellant’s measurements are very similar and indicate that the proposed dormer’s volume would be less than 40 cubic metres.”].
• Where a property has a secondary roof that’s slightly lower than the main roof, then an extension on top of this secondary roof should be assessed against Class B (i.e. rather than Class A). (*)
  [Note: The secondary roof is the lower and upper parts of a cat-slide roof on a two-storey house].
